SPIRIT COUNCIL
Mission Statement:
Spirit Council aims to create a fun and exciting atmosphere here at STL. We create a sense of belonging that encourages leadership, pride, and ownership. We do this by motivating student involvement through spirit building activities. If there’s an upcoming holiday or special event, Spirit Council has it covered!
Events:
TERRY FOX– Student Government hosts our annual Terry Fox Run/Walk at STL. Spirit Council is in charge of refreshments.
HALLOWEEN – Spirit Council runs the Halloween Civies Day. We hold an individual and group costume contest and prepare prizes for the winners.
BATTLE OF THE SEXES– Spirit Council hosts our annual BATTLE OF THE SEXES. It is an event filled with fun events where the males of STL face off against the females of STL. The winner is awarded a prize.
CHRISTMAS SPIRIT WEEK – Spirit Council promotes spirit around the Christmas holidays. We get people into the Christmas Spirit through different incentives or events.
VALENTINE’S DAY – Spirit Council sells roses for students to purchase for their valentine. We also sell Matchmaker forms so students can find out who their perfect match is.
WARDROBE WARS - This event shows STL in COLOUR! Each grade is given a specific colour to wear to dress up the uniform. The grade with the most participants wins a prize!
SPRING FLING – Spirit Council organizes give-aways for the students at STL. The school enjoys these incentives and appreciates this event that all councils participate in.
