ST. THERESA OF LISIEUX IS A FRAGRANCE AND SCENT SAFE SCHOOL; SCHOOL BEGINS ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH, 2010 - WELCOME BACK!
CHAPLAINCY COUNCIL

To be part of a Catholic school is to build one’s character and to show commitment and dedication to life.  Research has shown that students enrolled in a Catholic school are more likely to be successful because of the emphasis on strong faith and self-discipline in such schools.  Even though at times the prayer blaring over the announcements may seem monotonous, for some students it may be all they need to get through the day.  An inch of faith, however small it may seem, makes a difference.

Mission Statements:

The Chaplaincy Council strives to build the kingdom of God, empowers students to actively live their faith, and develops a school community where students can learn and grow spiritually.

"Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. Everything passes away -Except God." Saint Theresa

Main Events:

LITURGIES:  Chaplaincy Council begins every school year with a welcoming liturgy, bringing the school community together to celebrate unity in Christ. We plan many more liturgies throughout the year to bring staff and students together in Christ.

PAW PROGRAM:  We also welcome new students into our school with the STL PAW (Partnership And Welcoming) program.
LUNCH WITH JESUS: Every other week we invite students and staff to attend a mass at lunch time called Lunch With Jesus.

COIN DRIVE:  The council organizes a coin drive every year that calls upon students to bring in their spare change to support our foster children and the community of L’Arche, a home for the developmentally disabled. An information assembly by L’Arche is held every year for grade nine students.

VIA CHRISTUS:  Around the school the Council has created many reminders of Christ’s presence. Upon entering the school, a display case portrays the Christian season being celebrated. “Via Christus” (The Way of Christ) is the title of a bulletin board in the Mane Hall that displays a bible passage and its relation to our lives. Various statues, posters, and icons are used to decorate our hallways, always reminding us of Christ’s presence in our lives.
