EMPOWERING STUDENT PARTNERSHIP COMMITTEE (E.S.P.)
Mission Statement
To build and promote a safer school and community by engaging staff and students in active citizenship and challenging safety issues in collaboration with the York Region Police and other community partners who share this vision.
Objectives
• To represent and address the needs of parents, students, and staff regarding youth and school safety issues
• To raise awareness by implementing youth and safety concerns into school events
• To obtain and effectively use resources from other community partners, conferences, forums, e.t.c. to help achieve our goals
• To organize an annual ESP week & Prom Packages
• To organize and host a board wide bullying prevention symposium

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ESP COMMITTEE EXECUTIVE MEMBERS:
President(s):
• Presides over all meetings
• Works closely with the staff advisors in matters of committee activities, agendas, meeting follow ups
• Prepares the agenda for the meetings
• Coordinates the organization of the year’s activities
• Attends Safe Schools Team meetings
• Represents the STL community as required throughout the year
Vice President(s):
• Works closely with President(s) to delegate meetings
• Presides meetings in case of Presidents’ absence
• Supports the President(s) in the above activities
• Attends Safe School Teams Meeting
• Represents the STL community as required throughout the year
Secretary:
• Keeps an accurate record of the minutes for each meeting
• Ensures all members of the committee receive a copy of the minutes
• Is in charge of all documents regarding the committee
Public Relations Officer:
• Ensures committee is represented in the yearbook and newsletters
• Ensures pictures are taken for the committee’s events
• Searches for creative ways to promote the committee and its activities
